Supporting iranian artists
Attributed to studio of Ahmad, Persian, active 1815-1850, A Female Tumbler Performing a Handstand, first half of the 19th century, oil on canvas, 59 5/8 × 33 7/8 in. (151.5 × 86 cm). William A. Whitaker Foundation Art Fund, 2024.24
important note
Some of the artists I will be featuring reside in Iran. Supporting their work is my way of supporting the culture of Iran as a form of protest. I am conscious of the fact that the people I highlight here could face persecution if they are associated with political views expressed here. I therefore want to make it clear that artists promoted here do not necessarily reflect the political views represented on the page.
