The idea behind these mini portraits was to bring a visual representation to our one woman, smaller group protests. I feel that in this era of electronic news feeds and constant streaming, it is important to slow things down energetically in order to facilitate connection between the individual in the street, and the stolen lives of Iran's fallen heroes.  It is a reminder that these faces, are more than just some pixels on a screen, only to be replaced by the next fleeting moment in a constant stream of newsfeeds; that these were are the hopes and dreams of lives that were cut short.   On a personal level, it is also a symbolic sacrifice of time taken out of my day as an offering, and as a way for me to process the pain I feel at the loss of these beautiful, brave hearts and minds.
