An original work inspired by the events of one day in the life of a girl. I plan to rework this project on canvas or board. The symbology of this work represents the complicated relationship between the woman and this world. Her journey through life having being marred by the desires of men and the battle over her body, versus her own divinity. The world around her, viewing her in a two dimensional way, have chosen to cast the stones of illusion at her, painting her as the scarlet woman. In this particular depiction, the waterfall is embracing her, keeping her safe from this inquisition, whilst at the same time purifying her of the accusations. She holds on to the vision she has of herself in the sanctuary of her mind. The two goldfish in front of her representing divine union with divine masculine. God. Purity. Love in its purest expression. The location of this waterfall was a little spring along the path of a bushwalk that was spiritually significant for me. I do not have a photo of that particular spot, but the photo below is the path leading up to it. That day is forever etched in my mind, and I have hesitated making that journey again so as not to destroy the memory of what was. In the eternal words of Kate Bush, "Some moments that I've had...some moments of pleasure...these moments given, are a gift from time."
