The Jealous Lover

A new journey begins…

I have always seen the wave of Pittenweem, 'The

Beast of Pittenweem', as a representation of Poseidon; the jealous god and lover embracing his bride, the town of Pittenweem. For a short while I thought about changing it to a feminine depiction, and began to do so, but as the image began to take its shape, the feminine energy just did not feel right.  In the end I decided to follow the original vision and inspiration. I believe this is a timely change, a shift in the energy around us. Perhaps It’s time to channel some masculine energy and bring it forth into the world.  An exploration of masculinity and sensuality. I hope I can do him justice.  I am taking inspiration from the work of East Neuk photographer John Murray Jnr.    This will form the basis of my painting. Please support his work by following and perhaps purchasing a print.
