Up 'e go...oh feeling free

Last night, the nervousness of the past few months regarding this trip was replaced by a sense of peace that washed over me. The day was spent calmly letting go of expectations and forgiving myself for not having everything perfectly organised. In the evening, my younger brother surprised me by bringing a few bottles of our favourite alcohol (Chartreuse Green and Genepi) which turned the mood festive. Yes, your girl can handle her alcohol, it’s those Slavic genes. The check in wasn’t smooth sailing by any means, the staff all seemed to think that I should know what to do by osmosis, but here I am on the first leg of the trip and able to make my first official post of the journey. It’s going to be awkward at times, I’m going to be faced with new situations, but I feel in my bones that that nothing will come between me and my beloved Alba. There is such a happiness in my soul that I just cannot put into words. I’m not alone… I’m never alone 🪿 I can’t quite make out the thick Aberdeenian accent of Beluga Laboon in the song Gooserider, but what I am hearing is “up ‘e go, feeling free…” I’m going with that interpretation.
